Informing Your Treatment Plan

At Affinity Dental Sherwood Park, we use dental technology to provide a comprehensive view of your oral health, helping us make your dental appointments run more smoothly.

Our goal is to ensure that you are fully informed and comfortable throughout your dental appointments.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays utilize digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-rays. These sensors generate detailed computer images of the teeth, gums, and other oral structures, enabling your dentist to examine areas of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye. As a result, X-rays help us diagnose a wide range of dental conditions, such as gum disease.

Panoramic X-Rays

Panoramic X-rays provide a view of your entire mouth, allowing your dentist to assess your oral health more accurately. They can create a better image of your teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures. They are often used to help plan treatments for extractions and implants.

Intraoral Scanners

Intraoral scanners are a substitute for traditional dental impressions, which can be messy and time-consuming. They use an optical scanning wand to take a digital image of your teeth within minutes. These devices let your dentist capture accurate data to create digital replicas of your mouth's hard and soft tissues.

Cone Beam Cat Scan

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a type of X-ray machine that creates three-dimensional images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths, and bones in craniofacial areas, all in one scan. CBCT images allow for more accurate treatment planning, allowing us to better analyze your oral structures and airways.

Dental Lasers

Our dentists use lasers to perform various procedures involving soft dental tissues. These lasers produce focused beams of light to manipulate soft tissues in the mouth. They can help minimize pain and reduce the need for more complex dental procedures.
