Preventive Dental Hygiene
Protecting Your Oral Health
Regular oral exams, ideally twice a year, allow your dentist to identify any oral health issues and make a plan to treat them accordingly.
During your routine oral exam, our dentists will examine your entire mouth, including your teeth and gums, as well as the function of your jaw. Our dentist may also take dental X-rays and perform an oral cancer screening.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer can develop in any part of the mouth or surrounding tissues. During a dental exam, your dentist will carefully examine your face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums to check for any signs of oral cancer that may not be visible to the untrained eye.
A Healthy Smile at Home
Practicing good oral hygiene at home is important for a healthy smile. Remember to brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes and floss at least once a day to prevent cavities and gum disease.
Dental Hygiene Cleaning
Preventing gum disease, cavities, and other oral health issues requires removing plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth. Our dental hygienist will perform a deep cleaning of your teeth and gums to prevent and treat disease.
Regular hygiene cleanings are essential for maintaining optimal oral health and preventing dental problems in the future.
Fluoride Treatment
If you or your child is at a high risk of tooth decay, your dentist may suggest a fluoride treatment. Fluoride is a natural mineral that can help restore the minerals in your tooth enamel, thereby preventing or reversing tooth decay.
