Oral Surgery
Oral Treatment & Procedures
Oral surgery is an umbrella term that refers to the surgical treatment of diseases, injuries and defects of the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth, teeth and jaws.
You might feel a bit nervous at the prospect of oral surgery, but we want to assure you that our dentists will do everything they can to ease your concerns and make the process comfortable for you.
Our dentists will provide you with detailed information about your upcoming procedure, answers to all your questions, and detailed aftercare instructions.
Dental Implants
A dental implant acts like a natural tooth root. During this procedure, your dentist will surgically place a small titanium screw in the jawbone to support an artificial tooth. Together, the implant and tooth replacement make for sturdy and natural looking restoration.
Tooth Extractions
We always do everything we can to preserve a natural tooth. However, we may extract a tooth if it is too badly damaged due to injury, gum disease, or decay. In these cases, we can recommend a crown, bridge, or dental implant to replace it.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth are the last molars that grow in the back corners of an adult's mouth. Often, they do not have enough room in the jaw to develop properly, resulting in dental problems. Your dentist may suggest removing them to help maintain your oral health.
Bone Grafts
During a bone graft procedure, we surgically graft new bone tissue (either synthetic, or from another source on your body) to the jawbone to strengthen it. This is usually done in preparation for a dental implant to ensure that the jaw is strong enough to undergo the surgery.
