How Invisalign works
Invisalign clear aligners are discreet and custom-made to fit snugly over your teeth. When you change to the next set of aligners (typically every 1-2 weeks), your teeth gradually move into position, following a custom treatment plan mapped out by your dentist.

If you and your dentist decide to proceed with Invisalign aligners, you can expect the process to follow these steps:

The dentist will take impressions, X-rays, and photos to develop a custom treatment plan. Once the treatment plan is developed, you will be shown a computer simulation showing the exact movements of the teeth. Your dentist will also discuss the length of treatment and anticipated costs and give you a preview of your new smile.

You will be fitted with your custom-made clear aligners and given instructions for their proper care. To ensure optimal results, Invisalign aligners need to be worn 20-22 hours a day and taken out when you eat, brush, and floss.

As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth will gently and gradually shift into place. Your dentist may recommend that you begin wearing a new set of aligners every 1-2 weeks and schedule checkups every four weeks to monitor your progress.
After Invisalign treatment
When treatment is complete, custom-made clear removable retainers are needed to set the teeth in position. Typically, these retainers must be worn full time for six months, followed by nine months of nighttime only wear.
