At Affinity Dental Sherwood Park, your health and safety are of the utmost importance. We pride ourselves on staying current with the guidelines that govern infection prevention and control in Alberta, and we implement changes in our practice to align with changes to the guidelines as they occur.
Some of the measures we take to protect the health and safety of patients and staff include:
- Staff vaccination against hepatitis B virus (HBV)
- Hospital grade disinfectant used to clean the room after each patient
- Medical grade instrument cleaner and ultrasonic instrument cleaning equipment
- Daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of autoclaves and all other equipment completed and documented
- Sterilisers tested daily with biological monitors
- Sterilisers tested with chemical monitors in each load
- Every individual instrument pack has a chemical indicator within the pack
- Headpieces are flushed and dried after each use
- Sterile gloves and drapes are used for implant and grafting procedures.
